I've often been asked, "Why do you do this?" my answer is simple: God. He placed this mission in my heart when He sent me to India in 2017. While there, I began sharing the gospel with women and children held in bondage in the Turbhe Red Light District of Navi Mumbai. I encountered victims of human trafficking, some as young as eight, and the sight of such overwhelming suffering nearly broke me. I was devastated, angry, and frustrated. I watched in horror as a man led a child by the hand into a brothel, and I felt powerless to stop him or protect her. I could do nothing at that moment—helpless, I couldn't save her from that evil. But I wasn't hopeless. Amid my anguish, God gave me clarity: I wasn't there to save anyone. I was there to be used by God so that He could save them.
On the flight home, I prayed, asking God how I could help prevent just one child from enduring such evil. Six months later, on January 18, 2018, One Child At A Time was born. A month later, I had the opportunity to learn more about human trafficking in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in its red-light district. There, God revealed His plan for me and the mission of One Child At A Time. I discovered that preventing human trafficking through education is more accessible than rescue.
I hold a master’s degree in Human Services Counseling: Crisis Response and Trauma from Liberty University. I have also received a Board-Certified Human Trafficking Investigator, certified by the McAfee Institute, and a licensed Private Investigator in South Carolina. I am an Author of the quote, “WHEN YOU OPEN A WINDOW TO THE WORLD THROUGH TECHNOLOGY FOR YOUR CHILD, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT,” and I have received a Diploma in Mental Health Coaching from Light University. I am a presidential member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, a lifetime member of WWA (Worldwide Women’s Association), and a Rotarian in the Rotary Club of Hartsville in Hartsville, S.C.
Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice at Liberty University. Over the past six years, One Child At A Time has educated over 60,000 individuals in the Pee Dee Region. ONE CHILD has developed a curriculum that is now being implemented in public middle and high schools across Florence, Darlington, and some schools throughout the PeeDee Region. I am confident that we can eliminate this evil from our community….one child at a time through collaborative efforts. God is faithful! I’m deeply grateful for your love, prayers, and support.
Together, we can make a difference and work to eradicate this evil from our communities.
